Project Outline
Dogs Out 5K is an annual dog-friendly 5K run that helps raise awareness and funding to help homeless animals in need. I was contracted by a marketing agency to create components of an integrated digital campaign for the event being hosted by one of its clients, Animal Pals, a no-kill shelter. The client wanted to launch the campaign to raise awareness, participation, and sponsorship for the event. I created three display ad concepts for the campaign.


To create a story that resonates with the target audience and conveys the campaign's message, the ad scene was crafted from a pet lover’s perspective. It depicts a familiar moment for dog owners: a dog lying on the floor, watching for signs of acknowledgment from its owner. Nearby, a leash and running shoes hint at the dog's anticipation of going outside and being active. These elements subtly represent the Dogs Out 5K event. In the animation, a speech bubble signals the owner's words—“Dogs Out 5K!”—causing the dog’s ear to perk up in excitement, reflecting its understanding and enthusiasm. This playful acknowledgment of a dog’s intelligence and instincts is designed to engage pet owners emotionally.


The design brief called for two display ad deliverables, but a third was created to present an alternate concept. If the animated GIF ad sets up the Dogs Out 5K story, these ads complete it by showcasing another scene from a pet lover’s perspective. They capture the event's promise of physical activity, appealing to fitness enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers. The second static ad stands out with a bold composition, featuring a dynamic duo that bursts beyond the layout, enhancing the sense of energy and excitement.

Fresh Fare Farms is a meal kit delivery service that prides itself on using locally sourced items from farmers that use sustainable practices. They were launching a multi-channel advertising campaign during Hunger Action Month to expand their customer base. One deliverable for the campaign was to create an animated display ad that would expand the brand's customer base to a younger demographic, raise awareness of food insecurity, and provide an easy way for people to help while also benefiting their busy lifestyles.
The ad uses animation and imagery to engage and capture the attention of younger audiences who are tech-savvy and highly active online. The design reflects the brand's identity and mission of delivering healthy and sustainable fresh foods to its customers through the effective use of images, color palette, typography, iconography, and shapes.

Get LIT Festival of Books is a volunteer-run organization and annual book festival that was founded in Boulder, CO, to promote community literacy and local authors. The client wanted to launch an integrated digital campaign to promote this year's event and increase attendance. One deliverable for the campaign was to create an animated display ad that would meet the campaign's goals.


The display ad promotes the festival as a community gathering to celebrate literacy and local authors while aligning with the brand's established identity. With a digital ad asset in the campaign, the brand not only engaged its target audience but also expanded its reach. The primary target audience includes digitally savvy writers, educators, literary agents, and parents aged 30-55 in the Boulder and neighboring regions.
